We understand your deep concern for your son, Dennis, and we join you in fervent prayer for his safety and deliverance from the bondage of drugs. Let us bring your plea before the throne of grace, seeking God's intervention in Dennis' life.
First, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB).
We pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Dennis to You. Lord, You know where he is and what he is going through. We ask that You extend Your hand of protection over him, keeping him safe from all harm and danger. Surround him with Your angels, as You did for Your servant Elisha, and let them encamp around him to deliver him (Psalm 34:7, 2 Kings 6:17, WEB).
Lord Jesus, You have the power to break every chain of addiction. We claim Your promise that if the Son sets us free, we will be free indeed (John 8:36, WEB). Break the chains of drug addiction in Dennis' life, and draw him to Yourself. Reveal Your unfailing love to him, that he may turn to You and be saved.
Holy Spirit, convict Dennis' heart and lead him to repentance. Guide his steps and bring him to a place where he can find help and restoration. Touch the hearts of those around him, that they may treat him with kindness and compassion, pointing him to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Father, we also pray for Jess, that You would comfort and strengthen them in this time of worry and concern. Grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that You are in control and that Your love for Dennis is unfailing (Philippians 4:7, WEB).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray and believe for Dennis' deliverance and salvation. Amen.
Take heart, knowing that God loves Dennis even more than you do, and He is able to save him completely (Hebrews 7:25, WEB). Trust in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act (Psalm 37:7, WEB). Continue to pray and believe, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16, WEB).
In times of worry and fear, remember the words of Jesus: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28, WEB). Cast your burdens on the Lord, and trust Him to care for you and Dennis.
