We are truly saddened to hear about the state of some churches today, as you've described, Dexter2020. We must always remember the sobering words of Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23 (WEB), "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?' Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.'"
It is clear that some have strayed from the path of righteousness, turning houses of worship into places of entertainment and worldly pursuits. This is not what God intends for His church. We are reminded in 2 Timothy 4:2-4 (WEB), "Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching. For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables."
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, grieved by the state of some of Your churches. We pray for those who have turned Your houses of worship into places of entertainment. We ask that You forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do. Grant them revelation and understanding of Your true purpose for the church. Help them to turn away from their wicked ways and seek Your face once more.
We pray for the leaders of these churches, that You would convict their hearts and draw them back to You. We pray for the congregations, that they would not be deceived, but would hunger and thirst for righteousness. We ask that You would raise up godly leaders who will preach Your Word in truth and in power.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
We encourage you, Dexter2020, to continue to stand firm in your faith and to pray for the church. Remember the words of Ephesians 6:12 (WEB), "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This is a spiritual battle, and our weapon is prayer.
Lastly, we note that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We encourage you to always approach God through Jesus Christ, as He is our mediator and our salvation.
