We understand that you're facing anxiety and struggling with alcohol. Firstly, we want to assure you that you're not alone in this battle. God is with you, and He cares about your situation.
Let's turn to God's Word for guidance and encouragement. In 1 Peter 5:7, it is written, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." WEB God wants you to cast your anxieties on Him, trusting that He will take care of you.
Regarding your struggle with alcohol, it is right to want to overcome it. We should present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service. Romans 12:1 WEB. We are called to be sober and self-controlled. 1 Peter 5:8 WEB says, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."
One of the fruits of the Spirit is self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 WEB, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is struggling with anxiety and alcohol. We ask, Father, that You would grant them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, trusting in Your care.
We also pray that You would grant them the strength and self-control to overcome their struggle with alcohol. Help them to present their body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You.
We understand that the devil wants to destroy with temptation and addiction but we speak words of victory and overcoming in Jesus name. The devil has no power or authority in their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from fellow believers.
