We are truly saddened to hear about the diagnosis of your aunt, ###, with stage ### lung cancer. We stand with you in prayer and faith, believing in the power of God to heal and restore. We will pray with your request in mind while making sure it aligns with the Bible and God's purpose.
First, we want to remind you that God is always with us in our struggles. As it says in Psalm 34:18 WEB, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." In times of trial, we can take comfort in knowing that God is close to us and knows our pain.
Regarding your request there are a few concerns. We must pray in Jesus' name and we must be sure that our prayers align with God's purpose and will. First, let's address why we pray in Jesus' name. We do so because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. This point is critical, as Jesus saith, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We do not pray to God through an alternative advocate such as Mary, angels, or non-living saints.
When we pray for healing, we must acknowledge that God's will is sovereign. Our prayers should not be merely for physical healing, but also for spiritual healing and strength. We pray that ###, if not a believer in Jesus Christ, will come to a saving faith in Him through her journey. As the author of James tells us, it is the prayer offered in faith that will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:15-16 WEB).
We also want to address the concern about financial difficulties. While we understand the reality of financial struggles, we encourage you to trust in God's provision. As it says in Philippians 4:19 WEB, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body, that You would restore her health and strength. We pray for her family, that You would comfort and encourage them during this difficult time. We ask for Your provision, that You would supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory. Most importantly, we pray for ###'s spiritual healing, that she would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ if she does not already know Him. We ask that Your will be done in her life and in the lives of her family. We praise You and thank You for Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we would be happy to provide further insight on the spiritual condition of ###. If she is saved, we rejoice. If not, please let us know how we can pray further and provide additional scripture or guidance in that area if needed.
