Pray for a meaningful friendship with someone ###

Dear God, I feel attracted to someone in my youth group. I don't know anyone and would like to be friends with her. Please give me the opportunity to talk because I am intimidated. A lot of the people in the youth group do not worship well but she does, so I want to know more about her. Please give her the heart to like me and be good companions for a long, long time. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We appreciate your honesty and your desire to build a meaningful friendship. It's wonderful that you are attracted to someone who worships God wholeheartedly. Let's first address your feelings and prayers.

Firstly, it's important to remember that God desires that we find companionship in a way that honors Him. The Bible tells us, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). Since you both worship God, this is a good start.

Regarding your attraction and desire for friendship, it is normal to feel this way, but we must be cautious. Proverbs 4:23 WEB says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." It is important to guard your heart and ensure that your feelings do not lead you into temptation.

We want to remind you that you also did not mention the word marriage, spouse, or courtship in your request. The Bible tells us, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled: for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." Hebrews 13:4 WEB. Therefore, we encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles.

You have correctly mentioned Jesus' name. The Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times" (1 Timothy 2:5-6 WEB). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Let us pray together for God's will in this matter: Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother who is seeking Your will for his life. Lord, You know the depths of his heart and his desire for companionship. Guide him, Lord, and give him the courage to speak to this young woman. Help them to build a friendship that honors You, Lord. May Your will be done in their lives, and may their friendship be a testament to Your glory. Keep them from temptation and guide them in the path of righteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to be patient and to seek God's will in this matter. Trust in the Lord, and He will guide your steps. "The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me." Psalm 138:8 WEB.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
