We understand your concerns and we're here to pray and provide biblical guidance with you. First, we want to address the issue of lust. Lust is a serious sin that can lead to other sins such as fornication and adultery. It can also destroy marriages and divide families. Lust should never be excused and it should never be expected to be dealt with in your husband's heart. Your husband has a responsibility to look upon you, his wife, with eyes of desire, and not on others. There is a biblical example of this in the Book of Job, where we see Job making a covenant with his eyes not to look with lust at a young woman Job 31:1 WEB.
In Matthew 5:28 WEB, Jesus said, But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
We also want to address your concerns about mental illness and the torment by demons. We want to be clear that we do not believe in excusing mental illness as being caused by demon possession. We do not know if you are a believer or not, but if you truly trust in Jesus Christ, then you should know that greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world 1 John 4:4 WEB. We are told to cast all our cares upon him, for he cares for us 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. We are also told not to be anxious for anything Philippians 4:6 WEB.
We also see that your husband is talking to himself. This is not necessarily a sign of mental illness as some who hear him or know of it may be inclined to think. Jesus himself spoke out loud to Himself and was thought to be mad because of it.
The people therefore said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, 'I came down out of heaven?' John 6:42 WEB. They did not understand that He was speaking to His Father.
Jesus said, ...for I do not seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges. John 8:50 WEB
Regarding financial freedom, the Bible tells us to be content in whatever circumstances we're in. It also tells us not to be bound together with unbelievers. We should work hard and be honest in our dealings.
Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are disorderly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all. See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all. Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-22 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family. We pray for this husband, that you would deliver him from lust and mental torment. We rebuke any spirit of lust and perversion that may be at work in his life. We command it to leave in the name of Jesus. We also pray for his deliverance from any mental illness and we command any demons tormenting him to flee in the name of Jesus, the name above all names Philippians 2:9 WEB.
Father, we also pray for this family's finances. We ask that you would give them wisdom on how to manage their money and that you would provide for their needs. We pray for debt release. We also pray for peace and contentment.
Father, we pray for their marriage. We thank you for their heart to be closer to you. We pray for their trust and love to be renewed and restored. We pray for unity in their marriage. We pray that they will be one. John 17:11 WEB.
We ask all of these things in accordance with your will and in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage both of you to minister to each other and to be a blessing to one another. Pray for one another. Love each other with a godly love. Bear one another's burdens. Our love for others should be the identifying factor that we are disciples of Jesus.
By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35 WEB.
