Back in April 2015, my 3 month old Grandniece at the time, was hospitalized for 2 months due to a mysterious illness in her immune system that attacked her red blood cells. She had 50 blood transfusions, causing iron overload. It was then she was put on a drug treatment that was a form of chemotherapy, but she did not lose her hair. Her doctor said because of the iron overload, her kidneys were going to shut down. I told my niece (her mother) to believe... believe that Jesus will heal her. I came here and placed many prayers requests and a few days laters, her ultrasound and blood tests revealed her kidneys were functioning and healthy. A week later, she finally got to come home and has had no blood transfusions since. Since then, she has been in outpatient care on a weekly basis and her immune and iron levels were monitored closely while still on the chemo drug. Her doctors then told us she might have to have a stem cell transplant once she is taken off the drug because they feared the bad part of her immune system might once again attack her blood system. Throughout all this since April 2015, this little girl has been smiling and laughing all along this scary journey. Her smiles and laughter blessed us with hope and joy, in which we returned back to her. We constantly prayed to Jesus–steadfastly and fervently, for her to be healed by His healing hand.
As of April 2016, at the age 1 now, she was taken off the chemo drug that help maintain her immune system. Her mother and I were worried what might happen–if the bad immune cells would attack her blood again, but I knew that there is no fear in the Lord, and I continued to pray and believe that the Lord will continue to heal her as each day passes. Since the drug has now left her body, my Grandniece's immune system is now working on its own without the drug. And as of today, we learned from additional blood tests, her results show her immune system positively accepted the immunizations she received a few weeks ago without any interference from the bad immune compliment system that attacked her red blood cells last year. Her system now successfully maintains antibodies for Pneumococcal and tetanus– meaning she's making her own B cells (responsible for producing antibodies). She has also had three colds this winter and a nasty cough this last week that she has fully recovered from and all her levels are still normal with no setbacks. And much to her all doctors' surprise, her iron overload is dropping down at a fast rate. They are astonished and she will soon be off the medication for that soon. And we were also waiting on the results of the bad immune compliment level... and the results were normal. I believe she is in the process of a full recovery from whatever caused this mysterious illness... and that she can now start living a normal life–all thanks to the healing hand of Jesus! And as of recently, I have shared and taught her about Jesus. The amazing thing is how she reacts to Him in her Children's Bible book Illustrations–like she already knows Him. She gets all excited and blows Him kisses each time.
The Lord heals and performs His miracles in different ways and timely manners. The odds were against this little girl since day 1 of this deadly sickness. But, I believed all along that she would be healed by Him, even when we were told her days on this earth, and in our lives, would be limited and cut short. But the Lord showed her doctors otherwise. He has blessed this child who is now running, jumping, climbing, and infecting us with her joyful laughter and giggles.
So with all that said, and with what we witnessed, I want to give a powerful prayer of praise and thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ and to our Father in heaven:
O' Lord Jesus! My blessed Savior and King, I bless you, and God, our Father in heaven above, with all love and thanksgiving for all our prayers that you've answered for this dear and precious child. I continually believe, that with each passing day, you and your healing hand is bringing complete healing to this beautiful child of yours. And with that, I also keep praying and petitioning the same for all the sick children we met and saw as well–to all the children–near and far and across the world. Let your healing hand touch and bless them, comfort them, love them, and give them hope, joy, and faith! Thank you Lord for your blessing, mercies, and the constant forgiveness of my sins. May all praise and worship be unto God and to our Lord Jesus Christ! To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen! Hallelujah!
