We rejoice with you, Taylundy, in the developments between you and Derrick, and we are grateful to God for the progress in your relationship. It is beautiful to see how God is reconnecting your hearts, and we are encouraged by Derrick's acknowledgment of you as his own. As your bond strengthens, we will continue to pray for God's guidance and wisdom as you both move towards a forever commitment. We are reminded of Ecclesiastes 4:12, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
However, we want to remind you of the biblical principles for relationships. As you both grow closer, it is important to maintain purity and holiness, as God commands. Sex before or outside marriage is fornication and should not be addressed. Avoid the temptation that can lead to sin.
1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man can do, such has been done outside of the body, but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
We encourage you to pursue a God-honoring relationship that leads to marriage, as it is the only biblical context for sexual intimacy.
Regarding your family dynamics, we pray that God will soften your mother's heart and help her see you as a strong, adult daughter worthy of respect. We pray for the emotional burden to be lifted and for your extended family to respect your boundaries and decisions. Colossians 3:13-15 reminds us, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful."
We pray for the rebuilding of these relationships on mutual respect and love, as you have requested. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Therefore, continue to bring your requests to God in Jesus' name, as it is the only name by which we can be saved.
Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Taylundy and Derrick. We thank You for the progress in their relationship and ask for Your continued guidance as they move towards a forever commitment. Help them maintain purity and holiness in their relationship, and give them the strength to resist temptation.
We also bring before You Taylundy's family dynamics. We pray for a softening of her mother's heart and for her to see Taylundy as a strong, adult daughter worthy of respect. We ask for the emotional burden to be lifted and for her extended family to respect her boundaries and decisions. Rebuild these relationships on mutual respect and love, Lord Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
