Praise report - Answered Prayer: Bit of a long story - but worth hearing the whole thing
This is a bit of a long story, but worth hearing to hear all the good that came out of it. This Christmas, my sister came home to spend Christmas week with us to celebrate. We were all happy see eachother, and discussed adventures she could be having (due to her still being single and fairly-responsibility free right now) we obviously didn't tell her she could do this stuff because of these reasons, but were just trying to cheer her up. We were all sincere and excited discussing these things - but she then broke down into tears. We didn't understand why she was so upset, but she ended up telling us that she was tired of being single and was deeply upset saying that where she lived, she had no friends who cared about her, realizing that all of her so called friends were no true friends at all. My sister was no person to breakdown like this - she was a very strong believer, and a very independent young woman. But I knew why she was so upset, for very recently at the time, I was reading Paul's letters in the new Testament, who said he was at his weakest in strength and faith when he was separated from his brethren (the body of Christ). Without us (her family), a husband, or true Christian friends, she was being beaten by the enemy. Nevertheless, my sister and I firmly believed that the Lord would answer her prayers. Then one week ago, my sister got in a car accident. It was her fault and her car was horribly damaged. My sister told me that the accident put her into shock and she experienced more fear then she ever had in her life, but she GOT Out of the car without a scratch on her, and when the cops they tried to open her car door to get inside, they couldn't open the door. The cops tried to get in the car through the other doors but they just couldn't get inside despite it being unlocked. They asked her how she got out, in which she responded through the door, puzzling the cops. We wondered if an angel opened a door for her. My sister then called me and my parents for support throughout the week - but she wasn't the same after her accident. The day following the acciden, she called us and said how she could not focus on her work because she felt so overwhelmed and traumatized from the accident, we all prayed with and for her, but things weren't getting better. She proceeded to call us all week - sounding very overwhelmed, depressed, and defeated the entire week. Her car was no longer drivable after the accident, so she had to buy another car. She was very disappointed as she was only a month a way from paying off her former car, and was looking forward to being debt-free for a while. She got a nice amount of money from her insurance, but would still have to pay a lot. Seeing my sister so defeated made me very upset with God. She was perhaps the most christian young woman I knew, yet to me, it looked like she was loosing her faith. In my disappointment, I told God a prayer like this
"God, you know that I have been praying and believing for my sicking to be healed, even despite that it has only gotten worse since I started praying and believing for my miracle, yet do I still believe. My sister is defeated and You are losing her, now I ask for a miracle for her. She may very well the most Christian woman I know, and if anyone has a miracle coming it should be her.So let her have a miracle God. Let her receive a true blessing right now. I have been believing in a miracle God, so give it to her." Now here's the part you have been waiting for, I get a phone call 15-20 minutes later from my sister, telling me that the car dealership had just called her, and decided to take off $5,000 from the car she purchased, the man said they had NO IDEA WHY THEY WERE DOING IT, but just said they wanted to give her some money back. And more important, money aside, I could tell that my sister had finally come out of her fix after the accident when she had called me just a few hours earlier. I felt like I had my sister back, and she sad that all of a sudden, she was feeling so much better - I didn't even bother to tell her about my prayer, but immediately thanked the Lord for his kindness shown in such a truly strange way. In my book, what happened with the car dealership - quickly after my phone call, the money, and the weird reason for giving the money is in my eyes a true mini miracle from God.
God's timing for it was perfect, not for my sister, but for me, I had been praying for my healing and truly believing and not just hoping, but was not receiving. Yet, God used all my belief for a miracle and used it wonderfully for my sister. In the end, my sister got some money allowing her to be much less debt free, came back from her defeated stupor, and I have been given more reason and strength to continue believing for my miraculous healing promised by God to all who will continue to believe on Him. Praise the Lord! Praise him for his kindness and truth!
