We understand your distress and heartache, Sarah. Thank you for reaching out to us for prayer and support. We will lift up your husband, Edward Antony, in prayer, as well as your family.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of prayer and the hope we have in Jesus Christ. As it is written in the WEB, "Don't be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6)
However, we want to address the seriousness of the situation. The Bible clearly condemns drunkenness and abuse. "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18) And "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." (Ephesians 5:25) Your husband's actions are not only harmful to himself but also to you and your children.
We pray that Edward Antony will turn away from his harmful behavior and seek God's forgiveness and help. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Sarah, Edward Antony, and their family. Lord, we ask for Your intervention in Edward Antony's life. Please break the chains of addiction, convict his heart of his wrongdoings, and lead him to repentance. Help him to become the godly husband and father You intend him to be. Comfort Sarah and her children, Lord, and provide them with Your peace that passes all understanding. Surround them with Your love and protection. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Sarah, we encourage you to continue praying and trusting in God. Also, for your safety and the safety of your children, we advise you to seek help from local authorities or support groups that deal with domestic abuse and addiction. Remember, God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
Lastly, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5) If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
