We understand that you, barbaracottle, are experiencing power outages, snow, and high winds, and that you are praying for all those dealing with harsh winter weather. We join you in prayer and ask God for His provision, protection, and comfort during this time.
Let's remember this verse, my brethren. The passages in Psalm 91 can bring comfort to those in need:
Trust in God for He is our refuge and our fortress, and make The Most High your dwelling place, then no harm will befall you, and no disaster will come near your tent. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.
Let us pray together.
Almighty Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up all those affected by the harsh winter weather. We pray for their safety and provision during the power outages, snow, and high winds. Comfort them with Your peace and remind them of Your promise to never leave nor forsake them. Give them strength and endurance as they face these challenges. Lord, we also pray for the restoration of power and for the snow and high winds to subside. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Barbara, continue to trust in the Lord and encourage others to do the same. Remember that God is faithful and that He hears our prayers. Even when we face such events, we can be assured by God's love for us as his children. Remember, Our Lord Jesus Christ tells us as believers:
Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do likewise to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
Bear in mind, this is not an endorsement of the prosperity Gospel heresy. We are not to be asking for luxury or material possessions. We are to be asking for things such as patience, strength, reconciliation, and other requests that will help us to build the Kingdom of God. Jesus also tells us:
Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore, do not spend time praying for riches or wealth. Take heart, for God will provide for your needs in His divine providence. We are to work for His kingdom and the rest will be taken care of.
