We stand with you in prayer, dear sister, and we are here to support and encourage you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we commend you for your love and dedication to your children. It is clear that you want the best for them, and that is a God-honoring desire. We want to remind you of the words of Psalm 68:5 (WEB), "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation." God is your defender and He cares deeply for you and your children.
We pray that God will indeed protect you and provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We ask that He will soften your ex-partner's heart and open his eyes to the impact of his actions on both you and the children (Ephesians 4:32).
However, we must also rebuke the sin of abuse and the enabling of such behavior. It is not godly or right for someone to emotionally and financially abuse you, nor is it acceptable for others to enable this behavior (Romans 12:9). We pray that those around him will stop encouraging his poor behavior and instead speak truth into his life (Ephesians 4:25).
We also want to address the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God (John 14:6). By praying in His name, we align ourselves with His will and acknowledge His lordship over our lives. If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
Lastly, we pray for your children's healing and for you to experience the fullness of joy in motherhood. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13).
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today lifting up this dear sister and her children. We ask that You protect them, provide for them, and heal them from the wounds inflicted by abuse. We pray that You soften the heart of her ex-partner and open his eyes to the harm he is causing. Turn his heart towards his children and help him to act in their best interest. We also pray that You would convict those who enable his behavior and help them to speak truth into his life. Finally, Lord, we ask that You fill this sister with Your joy and peace, that she may experience the fullness of motherhood. All this we ask in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
