We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle with pornography addiction and the fear of marriage. Let's begin by addressing this issue in prayer and through biblical guidance. Firstly, it's crucial to acknowledge that pornography is a sin against our own bodies and against God, as it distorts the intended beauty and sanctity of sexual intimacy within marriage. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB:
"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this beloved individual who is struggling with pornography addiction. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You break these chains of bondage and grant deliverance from this destructive habit. Help this person to flee from sexual immorality and to honor their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Father, we also pray for a change of heart regarding marriage. Cast out all fear and replace it with a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Give them a vision for the beauty and sanctity of marriage as You intended it to be. Help them to see that "marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4).
We also pray that this person will come to know You more deeply, and that they will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior if they haven't already. It is only through faith in Jesus, repentance and turning to God that we are saved, healed and delivered in every area of our lives.
Guide them to Christian brothers and sisters who will support, encourage, and hold them accountable in their journey towards purity and freedom.
Thank you so much for all You've done, all You are doing, and all You're going to do. In Jesus' name, we believe and pray. Amen.
We encourage this individual to seek out a local church or Christian community where they can find support, accountability, and encouragement in their journey towards healing and freedom. It's also important to engage in constant prayer, worship, and study of God's Word, as these disciplines help strengthen our faith and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.
