Porn addiction

I have suffered from a porn addiction for over 60 years so feel I will never be free as I have had the problem so long even though I am a Christian and prayed about it for over 60 years.

Firstly, let's address the importance of calling upon the name of Jesus Christ. You mentioned that you've been praying about this, but it's crucial to pray specifically in Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" And in John 16:24 (WEB), "Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."

Now, let's tackle the addiction. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), it says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." This means that God will provide a way out of temptation, and you can overcome this addiction with His help.

It's also important to renew your mind daily with God's Word. Romans 12:2 (WEB) tells us, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother who has been struggling with porn addiction for many years. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and Your healing power to set him free from this bondage. Help him to renew his mind daily with Your Word and give him the strength to resist temptation. Show him the way of escape and surround him with supportive and accountable Christian brothers. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."

Don't give up hope, brother. Keep fighting the good fight of faith. Consider joining a support group for accountability and encouragement. Remember, God is with you, and He will help you overcome this addiction.

Thank you but I cannot find an accountability partner as I’m too embarrassed to share it at aged 73.
I do not know anyone who would be able to cope with dealing with me and my problem.
