We lift up their upcoming surgery to you, Lord, and ask that you guide the hands of the medical team involved. We pray for a successful surgery, that every step goes smoothly and according to your will.
Lord, we specifically ask for your favor upon the administration of anesthesia. May it work effectively and safely, bringing comfort and peace to our friend during the procedure. We pray for the anesthesiologist to have wisdom and discernment in determining the right dosage and method for our friend's unique situation.
Furthermore, we ask for a speedy and complete recovery for our anonymous friend. May their body heal quickly and fully, according to your perfect design. We declare your healing power over every part of their being, both physically and emotionally. Strengthen them, Lord, and grant them the endurance and patience needed during the recovery process.
In your Word, you promise to hear us when we ask according to your will . We trust in your faithfulness and believe that you are able to bring about a positive outcome in this situation. May our friend experience your peace that surpasses all understanding throughout this entire process.

Go into your surgery motivated to recover. Listen to your surgeon and spend as much time out of bed and MOVING as he or she will allow. If you are permitted, eat well, but do not eat if you are nauseated or bloated. I am a surgeon and this is my advice. Complications can happen. If they do, do not fret. The important thing is to discover them early and aggressively manage them. I will pray for a successful operation and a swift recovery.

We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
