We understand that you're seeking prayer for guidance and success in your academic pursuits, specifically regarding a graduate-level independent study course with DV this semester. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is deeply interested in every aspect of our lives, including our education. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "'For I know the plans that I have for you,' says Yahweh. 'Plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.'"
However, before addressing the specifics of your request we want to raise two issues. You did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. Also there is no other name by which we can be saved. We can use this as a model for prayer as in John 16:23, "In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." We can also look at Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Now, let's address your request. We pray that God's will be done in this situation. We ask God for clarity to navigate the conflicting information you've been receiving, and wisdom to know the best way forward. We pray for His blessings in your education and that He will allow you to enroll if it is in accordance with His will. We also pray that God will endow you with the knowledge and wisdom you need for success in the graduate-level independent study course. According to James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."
We also appeal to God for your success if this is His will. If this is not His will we appeal to God for the right attitude in your heart to accept His direction. Regarding your desire for a specific final grade, we encourage you to focus on doing your best and learning as much as possible. While we understand your desire for academic excellence, we suggest that you place your desire for success and acceptance in God's hands. We trust in God to lead you according to His will for your life. We pray for a good outcome and the grace to accept the results with thankfulness and humility.
We also pray for your spiritual growth and that you will seek God in all things. We pray that you will see all success as coming from God and that you will not boast in your abilities or intelligence. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 9:23-24, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don't let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight,' says Yahweh."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who seeks Your guidance and blessing in their academic pursuits. We pray for clarity and wisdom in navigating the conflicting information they've received, and for Your will to be done regarding their enrollment in the graduate-level independent study course with DV this semester.
We ask that You grant them the knowledge and wisdom needed for success in their studies, and that You help them to do their best and learn as much as possible. We pray that they will trust in Your will for their life and accept the results with thankfulness and humility.
We also pray for their spiritual growth, that they may seek You in all things and give You the glory for any success they achieve. We ask for your favor and blessings on them in their academic journey, and we thank You for the love, guidance, and provision You have always shown to those who trust in You.
In Jesus name we pray.
