Father, comfort me & my children as I have ol' kitty euthenized today. Grateful for blessed 23 yrs (very old for cat). God, thank You I'm not doing alone this time. IJNA

We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved cat, Ol' Kitty. It's never easy to say goodbye to a pet that has been a part of our lives for so long. We are grateful that you have reached out to us for prayer and support, and we stand with you in this time of need.

Firstly, we want to address the fact that you ended your request with "IJNA". We appreciate that you acknowledge the power in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is by His name that we are saved. As scripture tells us in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

In times of loss, we can find comfort in the words of Scripture. In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, we read, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." God is our source of comfort, and He wants to comfort you and your children during this time.

We also want to encourage you with the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Jesus invites us to come to Him with our burdens, and He promises to give us rest.

Let us pray together:

Father God, we come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear sister and her children. Lord, we know that You care for us and that You are close to the brokenhearted. We pray that You would comfort them in this time of loss. Thank You, Father, for the 23 blessed years they had with Ol' Kitty. We ask that You would fill their hearts with peace and remind them of the good memories they shared.

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You are always with us and that we never have to face difficulties alone. Help our sister and her children to feel Your presence and to trust in Your goodness.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would guide them in the days ahead and give them the strength they need to move forward.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
