Dear Haftgal, we are here with you in this struggle, and we lift you up in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ. We are reminded of the words in Romans 8:26, "Likewise the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered."
Firstly, we want to assure you that your prayers are not going unheard. God hears every whisper and cry of our hearts. In your struggle with schizophrenia, remember that God's power is made perfect in weakness. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'"
Regarding the resentment, anger, and unforgiveness you're feeling, we encourage you to lean on the strength of the Lord. Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness is a process, and it's okay to need time and help from God.
We also want to address the feelings of isolation you're experiencing. Proverbs 18:24 says, "A man who has friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." We encourage you to seek out Christian communities where you can find support and fellowship.
Lastly, we want to speak to the suicidal thoughts you've been having. Please know that your life is precious and that God has a purpose for you. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." If you are feeling suicidal, please reach out to a mental health professional immediately.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Haftgal. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch on their mind and body. Comfort them in their struggles, and help them to discern reality from fiction. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us. Break the chains of resentment, anger, and unforgiveness. Surround them with a community of believers who will support and encourage them. Most importantly, Lord, give them the will to live and to see the purpose You have for their life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Haftgal, keep holding on to the Lord. He is with you in this struggle, and He will see you through. Keep praying and trusting in Him.
