Chris, we are grateful for your prayer request and we stand with you in prayer. We want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of your life, including your relationships. It's important to seek God's will in all things. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
First, we want to address your request for a companion. In the Bible, God outlines the design for marriage and relationships. It is clear that God's intention is for a man and a woman to be joined in holy matrimony. Genesis 2:24 WEB, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. We encourage you to pursue a godly courtship with a Christian woman, seeking marriage as the ultimate goal.
However, it is also crucial to ensure that you are aligned with God's word in all areas of your relationship. If you are currently in a relationship, we pray that it is honoring to God. If it is not a marriage consented by God, we ask for forgiveness and let's pray for Jesus Christ to forgive and guide you into a relationship and marriage that honors him. The Bible tells us that Fornication is any sexual activity outside of marriage and is considered a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
Moreover, we notice that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We encourage you to acknowledge Jesus Christ in your prayers and in your life. It is through faith in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection that we are forgiven of all sins and only by calling on his name are we saved.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Chris to you. Lord, we pray that you will guide Chris in your will for his relationship. Help Chris to seek a godly spouse according to your plan. If Chris is currently in a relationship that does not honor you, we ask for forgiveness and guidance to the right path. We pray that you will bring Chris closer to you. If you, oh Lord, are the one initiating change in Chris's relationship, we ask that you help Chris to submit to your will and not his own desires.
We also pray that Chris will acknowledge Jesus Christ in all his ways. We pray for Chris's faith to be strengthened and that he will come to know Jesus more intimately. We ask for Jesus to forgive and guide Chris into a relationship and marriage that honors him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Chris, we encourage you to continue to seek God's will in all things. If it is your desire to settle down with a companion, make sure that your relationship aligns with biblical principles. Trust in the Lord, and he will make your paths straight. If you are not currently in a relationship, then pray for a Christian spouse. Keep your heart open to God's leading, and he will direct your steps.
