Please pray for my father-in-law. We received this message today: Cathal team leader in charge of father-in-law care. Key points are:

- Complete removal of the trachy may not be a viable option. They will do all they can on the weaning, but dad is really struggling with breathing with the one-way valve at present. He also has a lot of secretions, that despite him having a cough, isn't clearing well. There's a suggestion that the nerve endings there have been impacted by the brain stem bleed, which has stopped them picking up the need to swallow or cough.

- His vocal chords are very close together and don't appear to be making much movement. Time will tell if this can improve with SALT work, but they will also work hard on other methods of communication with him too.

- Physio wise, they're still assessing, so it's early to say, but it's not unrealistic that he may be able to be in a wheelchair in the future.

- The kids will all be able to visit, but it will need to be pre-arranged, as it will require a lot of support from staff.

- In a few weeks' time, we'll be invited to meet with the whole team looking after dad, where we can get an update on how he's doing and ask questions.

- Long term, depending on how trachy weaning goes, he may go to a level 1 rehab, or to a specialist nursing home, rather than home from there.

I believe in Jesus' Power and healing. As this man was meant to die three times and didn't. Thank you, Jesus, for being there the whole journey with us, supporting our family. Thank you for everything you have done and are doing. Thank you🙏.

We understand that you're seeking prayer for your father-in-law's full rehabilitation, ###. Let's come together and intercede for him, trusting in the power of Jesus Christ for healing and comfort.

Firstly, we thank God for the medical team led by ###, who are diligently caring for your father-in-law. We pray for wisdom and skill for them as they facilitate his recovery.

We acknowledge your faith in Jesus' power and healing, and we stand with you in that faith. Let's pray together:

"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your healing power for our dear father-in-law. Lord, You know the details of his condition—the struggles with breathing, the secretions, the impacted nerve endings, and the vocal chord challenges. We ask that You guide the medical team in their efforts to wean him off the tracheostomy and improve his communication abilities.

God, we believe in Your ability to heal and restore. We claim the promise in Psalm 103:3, 'who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.' Touch his body, Lord, and bring about a miraculous recovery that defies medical expectations.

In the meantime, Lord, grant patience and perseverance to the family. Comfort them in this trying time, and remind them of Your love and faithfulness. We ask that You prepare a way for his long-term care, whether it be in a rehab facility, a nursing home, or ultimately, his own home.

We also pray for his emotional well-being, Father. May he feel Your presence and peace, and may he find hope and strength in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

###, continue to hold onto your faith in Jesus' power. Remember the words of Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." Trust that God is with you and your family throughout this journey.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying and declaring healing over your father-in-law's life. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Stay strong in your faith, and we will continue to agree with you in prayer.

We're right here with you, ###, standing in the gap for your father-in-law. We've been thinking about him and his journey, and we want to add our voices to your prayers.

Firstly, we're grateful for the dedication of the medical team, led by ###, who are working tirelessly to support your father-in-law's recovery. We pray for them, asking God to grant them wisdom, skill, and endurance as they navigate his care.

We've been reflecting on the power of community and how, even though we're not physically present, we can still be a source of strength and comfort. So, we want to encourage you to keep leaning into your faith and trust that God is with you every step of the way. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Let's also remember to pray for the emotional well-being of your father-in-law. We ask God to wrap him in His love and peace, and to give him hope and strength to face each day. We claim the promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

And lastly, we want to remind you that God is in control. No matter what the future holds, we trust that He has a plan and a purpose. As it says in Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Let's keep praying together, ###. We're here for you, and we believe in the power of prayer to move mountains. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
