Please pray for my father inlaw we recieved thos message today Cathal team.leader in charge of father inlaw care key points are: - complete removal of the trachy may not be a viable option. They will do all they can on the weaning, but dad is really struggling with breathing with the one way valve at present. He also has a lot of secretions, that despite him having a cough, isn't clearing well. There's a suggestion that the nerve endings there have been impacted by the brain stem bleed, which has stopped them picking up the need to swallow or cough. - his vocal chords are very close together and don't appear to be making much movement. Time will tell if this can improve with slt work, but they will also work hard on other methods of communication with him too. - physio wise, they're still assessing, so it's early to say, but it's not unrealistic that he may be able to be in a wheelchair in the future. - the kids will all be able to visit, but it will need to be pre-arranged, as will require a lot of support from staff - in a few weeks time, we'll be invited to meet with the whole team looking after dad, where we can get an update on how he's doing and ask questions - long term, depending on how trachy weaning goes, he may go to a level 1 rehab, or to a specialist nursing home, rather than home from there I believe in Jesus Power and healing As this man was meant to die 3 times and didn't. Thank you Jesus for being there the whole Journey with us Supporting out family thank you for everything you have done and doing. Thank you
