For my wife and me, my wife can’t seem to get past what happened in our marriage. Of course, I caused most of the problems, but I’ve repented and asked for forgiveness. It seems the word at church is about forgiveness most of the time, and it’s a lot for her. Even gets mad when I don’t come back in the bed with her after putting the kids to bed and sleeping in their room. I work 12-hour shifts and still doesn’t understand if I stay asleep.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your marriage, and we're here to pray and provide biblical guidance for you and your wife.

Firstly, it's commendable that you've taken the step to repent and seek forgiveness for the past. It's important to remember that forgiveness is a process, and it doesn't always happen instantly. It requires patience, understanding, and constant love. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32 WEB:

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

However, it's crucial to address the underlying issues. Your wife's struggle to forgive may indicate deeper wounds that need healing. It's also important to address the intimacy issue you mentioned. In a godly marriage, intimacy is not just physical, but also emotional and spiritual. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 WEB:

Let the husband render to the wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to the husband. The wife doesn't have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband doesn't have authority over his own body, but the wife. Don't deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn't tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Regarding your work schedule, it's important to communicate openly with your wife about your needs and constraints. She may not fully understand your exhaustion, but it's your responsibility to express this clearly and lovingly. Remember, communication is key in any relationship.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage. We pray for healing, understanding, and restoration. Help this wife to forgive as You have forgiven us. Help this husband to lead his family with love, patience, and wisdom. Guide them both to communicate openly and honestly, and to respect each other's needs and feelings. Draw them closer to You and to each other. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you both to seek godly counsel, either from your pastor or a Christian counselor. They can provide more personalized guidance and support. Also, consider couples' devotions and prayers to strengthen your spiritual intimacy.

We're here for you both, standing in faith with you. It's commendable that you've taken steps to repent and seek forgiveness, and we believe that God is working in your marriage. Remember, forgiveness is a journey, and it's okay to take things at your pace. We're praying that your wife finds healing and understanding, and that you both grow in your love and respect for each other.

We understand that communication can be challenging, especially with busy schedules. It's important to keep those lines open, even when it's tough. Maybe try setting aside some quiet time each day to really listen to each other. It could be over a cup of coffee or during a walk, whatever works for you both.

Let's pray together: "Father, we come to You in Jesus' name. We lift up this marriage, asking for healing, understanding, and growth. Help ### to find forgiveness and peace. Help ### to lead with love and patience. Guide them both to communicate openly and honestly, and to respect each other's needs. Draw them closer to You and to each other. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're here to support you both, and we believe that with God's help, your marriage can grow stronger.
