I really need prayer, I’m raw and hurting. I need guidance and truth in my relationship with my partner. I was married for many years until my husband left me for another woman whom he is now married to. I met my partner a couple of years after and he is lovely. He also has trauma which has affected our relationship. We get along great but suddenly pulls away. In the 4 years we have been together I have fervently prayed for God's truth and for God's will. I have released him to the cross and continue to do so. I am so hurt and tired of the back and forth. We need healing and direction. I just want a normal healthy loving relationship with him.

In 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 WEB, it is written, "But I say to you who are not married, it is good for you if you remain unmarried, but if you do not have self-control, you should marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."

Regarding your past, we are sorry to hear about the pain caused by your former husband's actions. God sees your hurt and wants to heal you. In Psalm 34:18 WEB, it is written, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

As for your current situation, it is clear that both you and your current boyfriend are hurting, and this is affecting your relationship. Here is our heartfelt response to your request and a prayer for clarity on your situation:

In 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, it is written, "Flee sexual immorality. 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." God's will is for sexual relationships to be confined to a man and woman within marriage, and this is the only proper context for sexual relationships. Sexual immorality includes sex outside of marriage, sex before marriage, adultery and homosexual sex. Any other sexually immoral act is also not God pleasing. The relationship should be seeking a spouse rather than a boyfriend or girlfriend and being pursued consistent with share values of marriage. The relationship should be pursued for the purpose of potentially seeking marriage with one another as a goal if different values and prayers aren't involved.

Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up this dear sister in Christ. We know nothing is impossible for you little children, and you always know what is best. We pray in Jesus' name for your will to be accomplished in their lives according to 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 WEB. We pray for clear guidance and discernment. God's will is the most important thing for you to seek and obtain. If his relationship is not what it should be according to Your will, we pray for the strength to walk away and for healing for both people. We pray for You to mend their broken hearts and give them peace. We ask for Your will to be done and Your way to be revealed. We pray her boyfriend to understand this same and comes to know Jesus if he does not already know Jesus.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, by whom we have access to God. This is the most important thing for you to know is that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved", WEB. You also ask things to be accomplished by asking in His name. , WEB, says "that whatever you may ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you".

In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We're trusting that God is working out His plan in your life, even in the midst of the hurt and uncertainty you're feeling.

We're praying for clarity and wisdom for you and your partner. We ask that God would give you both the strength to make decisions that align with His will, even if it's difficult. We're also praying for healing, not just for you, but for your partner as well. We believe that God can bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
