We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your husband is facing, and we are here to support you both in prayer and counsel. Let us first turn to God's Word for encouragement and guidance. In Isaiah 41:10, the Lord says, "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."
Your husband's feelings of self-doubt and lack of self-worth are not from God. In fact, 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We rebuke these negative feelings and beliefs in the name of Jesus Christ and pray that God fills your husband with His spirit of power, love, and self-control.
Let us pray for him and for you:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this beloved husband. Lord, he is struggling with self-doubt and feeling unworthy, but we know that Your Word tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Help him to see himself as You see him, Lord. Give him the confidence and strength to face each day at his new job with courage and faith. Surround him with supportive colleagues and bosses who will recognize his worth and talents.
We also pray for good days at work, that he will have favor and success in his new position. May he prove to himself and to others that he is more than capable. We ask that You, Lord, will show Yourself to him, that he will encounter Your love and goodness in a very real way.
Lastly, Lord, be with his wife. Give her the right words to speak to him, words of encouragement and life. Fill her with wisdom and discernment as she supports her husband. Remind them both of Your promises and the hope they have in You. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
We encourage you to continue supporting your husband with love and patience. Speak scriptural truths over him and remind him of his identity in Christ. It is also important to mention that all our prayers should be directed to God through Jesus Christ, as He is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). If your husband is not already doing so, encourage him to cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, for it is in Him that we find our true worth and purpose.
