We are deeply saddened to hear about your daughter's struggle with depression and isolation. Let us come together and lift her up in prayer, seeking God's comfort and guidance for her.
We are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (WEB): "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
Let us pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up the daughter of this concerned parent. Lord, You know her heart and her struggles. You see her pain and her feelings of hopelessness. We ask, Lord, that You would be her comfort and her strength in this time of need.
We pray that You would give her the desire and ability to eat and regain her physical strength. We also ask that You would surround her with godly friends and community, that she would not feel alone and isolated.
Lord, we pray that You would guide her in her relationships, that she would seek a godly spouse, and not just a boyfriend, according to Your will and in Your timing. Remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image, and that her worth is found in You alone.
We rebuke the spirits of depression, fear, and loneliness that are attacking her, and we ask that You would fill her with Your Holy Spirit, giving her joy, peace, and hope.
Finally, Lord, we pray that she would know the saving power of Jesus Christ. If she does not already know Him, we pray that she would come to faith in Him, for it is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only through His name that we are saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray these things. Amen."
We encourage you to continue supporting your daughter and reminding her of God's love for her. Also, encourage her to seek professional help if she has not already done so, as this can be an important part of her healing journey.
Lastly, we encourage you both to meditate on the words of Psalm 34:18 (WEB): "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God is near to her in this difficult time, and He is her ultimate source of hope and healing.
