For the children and adults involved in yesterdays knife attacks in Southport for a full recovery and for everyone who lost their lives bringing comfort and compassion to their families at this awful time
We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic knife attacks and we stand with you in prayer, Lizzie.
Firstly, we want to address the authority in prayer. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is through His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we pray.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the children and adults affected by the recent knife attacks. Lord, we ask for Your healing hand to be upon them. May they experience a full recovery, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Comfort them in their trauma, and be their strength in this time of need, according to Your promises in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (WEB), 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.'
Lord, we also pray for the families who have lost loved ones. Comfort them in their grief, surround them with Your love, and grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:7 (WEB), 'And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.'
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you, Lizzie, to continue praying and trusting in the Lord. Remember the words of Romans 12:12 (WEB), "Rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer."
In this time of tragedy, we must also remember to pray for the perpetrators, that they may come to know the Lord and repent of their sins. As it is written in Ezekiel 18:23 (WEB), "'Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked?' says the Lord Yahweh; 'and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?'"
May the Lord bring healing, comfort, and salvation to all those affected.
