We are deeply concerned for those who are facing hunger and scarcity, and we join with you in bringing this need before the Lord. We remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40 (WEB): "For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison, and come to you?’ The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’"
First, we must address the fact that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We pray this in Jesus' name.
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, Your Son. We lift up those who are in need of food and provisions. We ask that You, Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, will fill their storages and pantries. We pray for divine multiplication, just as You did with the loaves and fishes in Matthew 14:19-20 (WEB), "He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitudes. They all ate, and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces."
We also pray for those who have abundant food and provisions, that they may be moved with compassion to share with those in need, as encouraged in Ephesians 4:28 (WEB), "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need."
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
Be encouraged to share what you have with those in need, trusting that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, as promised in Philippians 4:19 (WEB). Remember, it is by the name of Jesus that we are saved and have access to God.
