Let's begin by understanding that God does not show favoritism based on wealth or social status. Instead, He cares for the hearts of all people and desires that all come to know Him intimately. In fact, Jesus taught that it can be more challenging for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. The rich are not more deserving of God's blessings or visitations than anyone else.
The Bible tells us, "For there is no respect of persons with God" (Romans 2:11 WEB). The rich are not more deserving of God's blessings or visitations than anyone else. The word is clear that Jesus said," Most certainly I tell you, it is difficult for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."
First, let us pray for the rich, not that they are blessed with more visitations or wealth, but that they come to know Jesus Christ, turn to him, and use their resources for God's glory:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up those who are wealthy and prosperous. We pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. We ask that You would soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Help them to see that true wealth is found in a relationship with You, and that their resources are a gift from You to be used for Your purposes.
We rebuke the idea that the rich should be blessed with more simply because they are rich. Instead, we pray that they would be blessed with a deep and abiding relationship with You. We ask that You would give them a heart for the poor and needy, and that they would use their wealth to bless others and advance Your kingdom.
We pray this all in the name of Jesus Christ, who though he was rich, yet for our sake he became poor, so that we through his poverty might become rich.
Father, we also lift up Anonymous, and pray that they would come to know You more deeply. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, and that they would grow in their relationship with You. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and direct them, helping them to align their prayers and desires with Your perfect will.
We also pray that Anonymous would always remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, Father. We pray that they would boldly approach Your throne of grace, trusting in Jesus that is the one mediator between You and man.
Lord Jesus, we ask that you give Anonymous opportunities to share their faith with others, including the wealthy people they are praying for. We thank You for the cross, and for the gift of salvation. We pray that Anonymous would never be ashamed of the Gospel, but would boldly proclaim Your name to all people.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Anonymous, as we pray for the rich, let us also remember the words of Paul to Timothy, " Charge them that are rich in this present world that they not be highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life which is life indeed." (1 Timothy 6:17-19 WEB).
Let us encourage the rich to be generous and willing to share, using their wealth to bless others and advance the kingdom of God. And let us always remember that true wealth is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, not in material possessions.
Finally, Anonymous, we want to encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father, and it is only through His name that we can be saved. As the Bible tells us, "for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). So let us always boldly approach the throne of grace, trusting in the name of Jesus.
We thank you for seeking the Lord in prayer, and we hope that this response has encouraged and challenged you in your walk with Him. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you.
