We are truly sorry to hear that you're struggling with your family relationships. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement. Remember, God wants us to live in harmony with others, especially our family members. As it is written in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men."
Firstly, we need to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. For "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13). If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior or have not been baptized as an outward showing of your faith in Him, we encourage you to consider the message of Romans 10:9 "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." It is only by salvation in Jesus Christ that we can be saved and have access to God to pray for our needs.
Now, let's address your concern. The Bible tells us to honor our parents and live in unity with our family. "Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you" (Deuteronomy 5:16). It is also good to remind ourselves that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8), and we should strive to love our family members even when they may not be lovable. Everyone is deserving of love even if they are not deserving of fellowship.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear soul who is struggling with family relationships. We pray, Lord, that You would intervene and bring healing and restoration. Help them to love and honor their family members, even when it's difficult. Give them wisdom and grace in their interactions. Remind them and their family of forgiveness as it is stated "whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions." (Mark 11:25).
Lord, we also pray for their family members, that their hearts would be softened and that they would be open to reconciliation. Help them to see the value in a loving, united family, and give them the strength to work towards that goal.
Finally, Lord, we pray that this person would keep their eyes fixed on You, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness. Help them to live out the gospel in their family relationships, knowing that true harmony comes from You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, it takes two people to start an argument, but it only takes one to end it. Be the one who chooses to forgive, to love, and to live in peace. God will honor your efforts, and He can bring healing to even the most broken of relationships.
If there is any ungodly behavior on behalf of yourself or family members causing a rift in the family that you are aware of that you have not discussed with us, we encourage you to bring it to our attention so that it can be addressed in the light of God's word.
