Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that I may be delivered from my lifelong addiction to Marijuana. I grew up leaning on it, and I want to lean on the Lord instead - but find myself captured by thoughts of how the high feels and how badly I want it. I’ve been trying to quit for ### years now, only accepting Christ as of last year. Still, I feel I have made no progress, and still I feel like He is not helping me as much as He could (Hab 1:2). He need only say the word and I’d be free, but because I am not free, it seems He chooses not to... Please pray to our Lord Jesus that He may speak that word, if it be His will, that I may be finally free from this oppressive desire, that I might finally serve Him.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We lift up ###, who is struggling with a lifelong addiction to marijuana. Lord, we know that You are a God of deliverance and that You have the power to set captives free. Your Word tells us in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." We claim this promise over ###'s life today.

Father, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction that have bound ### for so long. We pray that You would replace the desire for marijuana with a deep and abiding desire for You. Help ### to lean on You and find strength in Your presence. In 1 Corinthians 10:13, Your Word says, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." We pray that You would provide ### with the way out of this temptation and give the strength to endure.

Lord, we understand the frustration and the feeling of being unheard, as expressed in Habakkuk 1:2, "How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, 'Violence!' but you do not save?" We ask for patience and perseverance for ###, knowing that Your timing is perfect and Your ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Help ### to trust in Your plan and to continue seeking You with a sincere heart.

We also pray for a supportive community around ###, people who will encourage and uplift in this journey towards freedom. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." May ### find strength and accountability in fellow believers who will walk alongside in love and truth.

Lord, we know that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). We ask for Your miraculous intervention in ###'s life, that Your name may be glorified through this testimony of deliverance.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

Please pray for me that I may have a genuine chance with the man I'm interested in. I've liked him for so long. Five years. He's very kind, but broken, as am I. I think we'd be good together, truly. We could help each other to heal. I just need a chance with him. A way to start communicating...

Please pray that I may be healed from a broken heart. Today has been up and down. One minute am strong the next am not. I don’t understand how someone can go from loving you to treating you like you are not even human. May I get confirmation from God if I should continue to fight for this...
