We are here with you in spirit, lifting you up in prayer. Remember, dear one, that the Bible tells us to "love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31 WEB), which implies that we should love ourselves. This is not a selfish love, but a love that understands that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14 WEB).
However, we must first address the most important love of all. "Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment'" (Matthew 22:37 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking that You help ### understand the width, length, depth, and height of Your love for them (Ephesians 3:18 WEB). Help them to see themselves through Your eyes, and to love themselves in a healthy, godly way. Help them be kind to themselves. Give them the strength to make positive changes in their life. Lord, we know that it is only through a relationship with Your Son, Jesus Christ, that we can truly understand the love that we first need to receive from You. Therefore, we pray that ### will accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and know that You are always with them, loving them unconditionally.
Now, let us encourage you to treat yourself with kindness and respect, knowing that you are a child of God. Remember, "God is love" (1 John 4:8 WEB), and His love is perfected in us when we love others as He has loved us. This includes loving ourselves in a way that honors Him.
Finally, take comfort in these words from Romans 8:38-39 (WEB):
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
