We are grateful for your heart's desire to become a kinder person, as kindness is a fruit of the Spirit that God desires for each of us to exhibit.
Firstly, we would like to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can truly change and become more like Him. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB:
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
If you have not already, consider putting your faith in Jesus Christ, repenting from your sins, and asking Him to be your Lord and Savior.
Now, let us address your request. In Colossians 3:12 WEB, we are encouraged to:
"Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance."
To become a kinder person, we must first have a heart of compassion. This comes from understanding that every person is created in God's image and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking that You would help ### become a kinder person. Fill their heart with Your compassion, love, and kindness. Help them to see others as You see them, and to treat them with the same grace and mercy that You have shown to us. Give them opportunities to practice kindness, and help them to be a light to those around them, pointing others to You. Help them to realize that the things, people, and situations in their life that cause them to be unkind need to be addressed and forgiven and for You to help them do that. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
As you strive to become a kinder person, remember that it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can truly change. Be patient with yourself, and trust that God is at work in your life. Whenever you face a situation, remember that responding in anger, frustration, or impatience is your natural human desire. Instead, rely on the Holy Spirit to respond in a godly manner with love and kindness.
Lastly, consider the words of Ephesians 4:32 WEB:
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
As God has forgiven us, we should also forgive others and treat them with kindness. This is not always easy, but with God's help, it is possible.
