We understand your desire to see your friendships more clearly, and we commend you for seeking God's will in this matter. We are reminded of Proverbs 12:26. "The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray." It is essential to surround ourselves with godly influences, people who encourage us our journey with Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we notice that Jesus was not mentioned in the prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can come to God the Father. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. Jesus also said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6 WEB. If you have not believed in Jesus, we pray you will come to him, the one who died for our sins and was raised from the dead by God the Father. Then we can approach God in Jesus' name.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, thanking you for the friendships that you have placed in our lives. We ask that you reveal to us and the one who submitted this request any ungodly influences, toxic behaviors, or situations that may distract us or them from our and their walk with you. Give us the discernment to recognize these issues and the wisdom to address them in a loving and biblical manner.
Lord, we also pray that you will surround us with godly friends who will encourage us our walk with you and be the godly influence on us that we may be able to be to them. Help us to be a light in the darkness, reflecting your love and grace to those around us.
If there are any friendships that are not aligning with your will, we ask that you give us the strength to make the necessary changes, even if it means letting go of certain relationships. Help us to trust in your plan for our lives and to find comfort in your unfailing love.
Finally, Lord, we pray for the salvation of all our friends, that they may come to know you as their personal Lord and Savior. We ask this all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to be on the alert for those who may harm you. "Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" 1 Peter 5:8 WEB. Stay strong in Jesus and walk by faith, not by sight. Continue to lift your friendships up in prayer, trusting that God will guide you according to His will.
If you find that any of your friendships are leading you away from God or this person is not a Christian Believer, it may be necessary to reevaluate those relationships and make changes accordingly. Remember. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we should not have intimate relationships with unbelievers. This is for our good and His glory. If you are not married and in a relationship with a person who is not a Christian Believer, this should be addressed. There should be no sexual intimacy, living together, or planning a life together when a person is not a believer. The believer and the unbeliever should work toward evangelism of the unbeliever.
We are here to support you in prayer and to provide biblical guidance. May God bless you and guide you in His truth.
