We are grateful for your heartfelt concern for others. The Bible consistently shows God’s heart for the poor and needy, and commands us to help relieve the burden of hunger. Let us pray.
Oh Lord, you are Jehovah Jireh, our provider. Just as you provided manna from heaven for the Israelites, we ask that you meet the needs of those who are hungry and hurting around the world. We pray for those who are not sure where their next meal will come from that you provide them with the food they need. We pray for the strength and endurance of those who are currently hungry. In the name of Jesus Christ, in whom all needs are met.
We must also act as the hands and feet of Christ on Earth. Remember the words of the Apostle John, But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him? My little children, let’s not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth. Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Proverbs 3:27 WeB.
In addition, we must be compelled to share the good news of Jesus Christ. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ 2 Corinthians 10 4-5, WeB.
We must be compelled to share that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2 5, WeB.
