Please pray my mom spends more time with her dad.

We understand that you're desire is for your mom to spend more time with her dad, your grandfather. It's important to honor our parents, as the Bible tells us in Exodus 20:12, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you." This commandment comes with a promise of blessing and a long life.

However, it's crucial to remember that while we should encourage and support family relationships, we should not idolize them or prioritize them over our relationship with God. As Jesus said in Matthew 10:37 WEB, "He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me."

Let's pray that your mom will find the right balance in her relationships, that she will honor her father, but most importantly, that she will put God first in her life.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name to lift up this situation. We pray that you will work in the hearts of this family, drawing them closer to you and to each other. We ask that you will give the mother a heart to honor her father, and that you will guide her in how to best do that. We also pray that you will help her to put you first in her life, above all other relationships. We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
