Let's join together in praying for your mother, that God would ignite in her a passion to read and study His Word. It is so important that we do not let our Bibles gather dust. The Bible is a love letter from our Heavenly Father, our Savior Jesus, and our Comforter, the Holy Spirit. It is the inspired word of God. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16 WEB) It is the Bible that tells us that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, the only way to the Father, and through His death and resurrection we can have eternal life. (John 3:16 WEB) Submitting to the authority of the Word of God is submitting to the Lord. It is the road map for life and the way to know God intimately. It is the map for the narrow way (Matthew 7:13 WEB), that few find and few use.
Let's pray earnestly for your mother:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the mother of our friend. Lord, we ask that You would stir in her a hunger and a thirst for Your Word. Give her a passion to read The Holy Bible more. Open her eyes to see the wonderful truths contained within its pages. Help her to understand Your Word and apply it to her life. Surround her with people who will encourage her and support her in this journey.
Lord, Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105 WEB), and we pray that You would guide her steps through Your Word. Let her know that the Bible is the spiritual food that every Christian needs to grow. The Word is how we know the Gospel, believe and are saved.
We also pray for her to know that Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14 WEB) and that the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17 WEB) and that it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). Help her to know that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 WEB)
Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13 WEB)
In Jesus' name, through whom we have eternal life, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, knowing that God hears our prayers and that He desires for all people to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 WEB) Continue to pray for your mother and trust that God is at work in her life.
We appreciate that you did mention Jesus Christ in your request.
