We are glad to join you in praying for your dad to have joy daily. Let us remember God's promise in Psalm 16:11 (WEB): "You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."
True joy comes from the presence of God and a right relationship with Him. We pray that your dad would seek God's presence daily and find his joy in the Lord. Let us also remember the words of Jesus in John 15:11 (WEB): "I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the father of Anonymous to You. We ask that You would fill him with Your joy daily. Help him to seek You and find his delight in You. Lord, remind him of Your promises and give him a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness as referenced in Isaiah 61:3 (WEB). Help him to walk a path of life and live in your presence. May he live a life of purpose for the glory of your name.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If your dad does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we encourage you to share the good news with him. It is by the name of Jesus that we can approach God. As we read in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" It is only by the name of Jesus we can be saved and access God.
Let us also remember that when we truly believe in Jesus we want to follow Jesus and His commands. We have a new heart and spirit that loves Jesus, wants to obey His commands and be like Him.
Let us remember the words of Jesus in Luke 6:46 (WEB): "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and don't do the things which I say?" This is an important question to ask ourselves as Christians.
So let us encourage your dad to truly believe in Jesus, trust Him, and follow Him. We know that when we believe in Jesus we will lead a life of recognizing our sin and having a heart to repent of our sin. As said in 1 John 1:9 (WEB): "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
We want to encourage your dad to know this truth. As you pray for him, let us encourage him to know he can be a child of God and have this forgiveness of sins. He can have this peace and joy by believing in Jesus.
