Let us stand together in prayer for your brother, that God would instill in him a hunger and thirst for His Word. Reading the Bible daily is a way for us to feed on the very words of God, which can give us peace, hope, and encouragement.
We know that the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). We are reminded that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17 WEB). Therefore, it is crucial that your brother spends time in the Word, allowing it to transform his life.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the brother of Anonymous. Lord, we ask that You would place a deep desire in his heart to read and study Your Word daily. Help him to see the importance of this spiritual discipline and give him the strength and self-control to make it a priority in his life.
We pray that as he reads the Bible, Your Holy Spirit would reveal truths to him, convict him of sin, and guide him in the way of righteousness. We ask that You would open his eyes to see the wonders of Your law and that You would give him understanding and wisdom beyond his years.
We also ask that You would surround him with people who can encourage and support him in this journey, helping him to grow in his faith and knowledge of You.
Lord, we know that it is not your will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 WEB). We pray that if he has not already, that he would come to believe and put his trust in Jesus Christ, Your only begotten Son as his Lord and Savior. That he would understand that Jesus paid the penalty for his sins on the cross and rose again from the dead.
We ask all of this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Lord and Savior.
Amen.
Remember, Anonymous, that God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105 WEB). Encourage your brother to seek God through His Word, and trust that the Lord will honor your prayers.
We also pray that you, Anonymous, would also be reading God's word daily. Praying for others is a wonderful thing. We should also pray for ourselves.
