We are joined with you in spirit, Anonymous, to intercede for your brother. It's wonderful that you desire for him to engage with God's Word daily, for it is alive and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. Let's bring your request to the Lord together.
Firstly, we acknowledge that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." So, we pray to God the Father in Jesus' name.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up the brother of Anonymous. Lord, we ask that You would stir in his heart a hunger and thirst for Your Word. Give him a desire to read and meditate on the Bible every day. As he reads, open his eyes to see the wonders of Your truth, and let it be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path Psalm 119:105 WEB.
We pray that the Holy Spirit would speak to him through the Scriptures, revealing Your will and Your ways. May the Word be alive and active in his life, transforming his mind and his heart Hebrews 4:12 WEB.
If there are any hindrances or distractions that are keeping him from dedicating time to Your Word, we rebuke them in Jesus' name. Help him to prioritize this spiritual discipline, and equip him with the tools and resources he needs to understand and apply Your Word to his life.
We believe to see God, move in his life as he commits to reading the Bible daily. And it is only by the blood of Jesus that we can come to you in confidence to make these requests, as we stand on the promise of salvation and redemption through Jesus Christ alone. We do not know if your brother trusts in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, if not, we ask that you would reveal to him his need for a savior and that he would trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your love. We trust Your work in his life.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, Anonymous. The Word of God does not return void. As your brother reads the Bible, it will accomplish that which God pleases and purposes Isaiah 55:11. Trust that God is at work in his life.
Lastly, we gently remind you, Anonymous, to keep your faith and prayers centered on Jesus Christ. It is through His name that we have access to God the Father, and it is by His blood that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. Always remember the importance of praying in Jesus' name, as it is the only name by which we can be saved and if you haven't already give your own life to Jesus Christ.
