We are delighted to join you in prayer for your brother's blessings. Before we begin, let us remember Our Lord's teaching on asking for gifts. In John 14:13-14 (WEB),
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.”
We are reminded that it is through the name of Jesus that we can approach the Father with our requests.
First, we acknowledge your concern and care for your brother. Indeed, it is a blessing to be surrounded by loving friends and a godly wife. We pray that your brother finds favor with God and that God grants him a Proverbs 31 woman as a wife—a woman who fears the Lord and is virtuous. Let us pray:
Almighty Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up the brother of Anonymous. Lord, we ask that you bless him with a godly wife, one who is filled with your Spirit and seeks to honor you in all she does. May she be a suitable helper for him, supporting him in every way, as you designed marriage to be. In Proverbs 18:22 (WEB), you promise that "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh." We claim this promise for him, Lord.
Additionally, Father, we pray that you surround him with friends who are faithful and encouraging. May they be iron sharpening iron, encouraging each other to live lives that honor you, as it says in Proverbs 27:17 (WEB), "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."
Lord, we also pray that your Holy Spirit will guide him. If there are areas in his life that need to be addressed and changed before you can bless him, we pray that you bring these to his attention and help him correct these.
As your Holy Word instructs us in James 4:3 (WEB),
You ask and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
Help him to ask with right motives, for your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you both to trust in God's timing and to seek His will above all else. Remind your brother to be patient and to grow in his relationship with Christ, as this is the most important foundation for any other relationship. Lastly, Jesus died for all of us and rose again. If we believe in Him, we can have eternal life and also approach God directly. If your brother believes in Jesus, this is the most important decision he can make while living. It is only through Jesus we can approach God and it is only by His name we can be saved.
