Let us join together in praying for Jaylen, that God would instill in him a hunger and thirst for His Word. It is so vital to spend time daily in the Bible, for it is the primary way God speaks to us and guides us in our walk with Him. As it is written in Second Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Let us pray:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up Jaylen to You. We ask that You would place a desire in his heart to read Your Word daily. May the Holy Spirit guide him as he reads, revealing truth and life to him. We pray that Jaylen would be transformed by the renewing of his mind as he engages with Your Word, and that he would grow in his relationship with You. We ask this in accordance with Your will, in Jesus' name. Amen."
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If Jaylen has not already done so, we pray that he would put his faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, and that reading the Bible daily would be a natural outflow of his relationship with Jesus.
In addition to praying, we encourage you, as you have influence over Jaylen, to share with him the importance of daily Bible reading. Encourage him to start with a small, manageable goal, such as reading a chapter a day, and to be consistent in this habit. The book of Proverbs is a great place to start, as it is filled with wisdom for daily life.
