Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, on behalf of ###, who desires to experience the peace, love, and joy of the Holy Spirit. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon ### in a powerful way, baptizing them with tongues of fire. Your Word tells us that when we ask, we shall receive, so we ask in faith that You would fill ### with the gift of speaking in tongues, enabling them to pray and worship You in a deeper and more intimate way.
We also lift up ###'s desire to quit smoking. We thank You, Lord, for the strength and determination that You have already given them to give up smoking on Monday. We pray that You would continue to strengthen them, Lord, and help them to resist any temptation or desire to go back to smoking. Your Word reminds us that we are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we ask that You would empower ### to honor You with their body by staying free from this addiction.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in Your promises that when we seek You, we will find You, and when we ask according to Your will, You will grant our requests. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
