We understand that you desire to spend more time with your friends, but we want to encourage you to consider the type of friendships you are pursuing. As believers, we are called to be in the world but not of it, and our friendships should reflect that. The Word of God tells us, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness WEB? What communion has light with darkness WEB?
First, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Anonymous. We pray that you will guide them in their friendships, surrounding them with godly influences who will encourage them in their walk with you. We ask a lot of requests in Jesus name that You help them to be a light to their friends and that those who may not be good influences are pruned away.
We also want to encourage you to seek friendships that are centered on Christ. As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend, WEB. Friendships that are rooted in Christ will encourage you to grow in your faith and will help you to live a life that is pleasing to God.
Finally, we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. And in all that you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him, WEB.
If your friends are not believers, we encourage you to be a light to them, but be cautious in spending too much time with them, as they may influence you more than you influence them. Instead, seek out godly friendships, perhaps through joining a Bible Study group, being involved in church events, and getting to know other Christians.
As the Bible tells us, But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin, WEB.
