We are truly sorry to hear about the fall out with your best friend and the pain it has caused you. In times like these, we turn to the Word of God for comfort and guidance. The Bible tells us, For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity, Proverbs 24:16 WEB. It is normal to face difficulties in relationships, but it is important to handle them in a way that honors God.
Firstly, we need to address that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible also says, And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12 WEB. So we pray that you would come to saving faith if you have not already.
We also need to consider that true friendship is a blessing from God.
A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity, Proverbs 17:17.
Now, regarding the reconciliation, Jesus gives us clear instructions on how to handle conflicts. In Matthew 18:15 WEB, it is written, If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. This means if you have been wronged, go, and speak to him about it. If he does listen to you, then you have gained him back.
However, we must also consider that there are times when reconciliation may not be possible due to the hardness of the other person's heart. In such cases, we must be willing to forgive and move on, trusting that God will deal with the situation in His own way and time.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister/brother who is going through a difficult time after a fall out with a close friend. We ask, Lord, that You would soften the friend's heart and open the doors for reconciliation if it is Your will. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, and to forgive each other as You have forgiven us.
But, we also ask for Your will in this situation. You know the heart of every person. If the friend isn't going to be a godly friend, then help our sister or brother to move on and to forgive.
Lord, we also pray for our sister's/brother's emotional healing. Comfort her/him in this time of heartbreak, and help her/him to cast all her/his cares on You, knowing that You care for her/him, 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. Guide her/him to seek out godly spouses, possibly a husband or wife instead of non-biblical partner.
We pray for the salvation of the person submitting this request, if they are not already believing in Jesus Christ. We pray that they will come to saving faith and place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
