We are truly sorry to hear about your personal loss and the grief that has taken hold of your life. Grief is a normal response to loss, but it's important to remember that we have a loving God, our Comforter, who is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 WEB.
Firstly, we want to ensure you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB. So, we pray in the name of Jesus, with the authority and salvation given to us by Him and His sacrifice on the cross.
In moments like these, we encourage you to cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 WEB. Remember that Jesus himself experienced deep grief and sorrow, even to the point of sweating blood in the Garden of Gethsemane. He understands your pain and wants to carry it for you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our fellow believer who is overwhelmed with grief. We ask for Your comfort and peace to envelop them, as only You can provide. Help them to cast their burdens on You, Lord, and to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, that You want to save them from their sorrow.
We pray for healing and restoration of joy and peace. Help them to sleep in Your loving care, and to concentrate on their daily tasks. Draw them closer to you in their pain. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Take heart, for God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB. Keep trusting in Him, and remember that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB.
If you have not already, consider reading the Psalms, as they often reflect the raw emotions of grief and loss, yet always point to the steadfast love and faithfulness of God.
