I prayed for this request in Jesus Name.
Let us come before the Almighty God with prayers requesting His will to transform ###'s life and his family.
We pray for God to work mightily in ###'s heart, that he may become the son that God wants him to be. Let us remember what the Apostle Paul says: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with a promise” (Ephesians 6:1-2 WEB).
Let us pray.
Father in heaven, we come boldly before Your throne of grace, lifting up ### and his family before You. We ask that You work in ###'s heart, that he may become obedient and responsible, especially in helping his father. Lord, we know by I John 5:14 WEB "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us." So we ask in Jesus Name to move ### to start helping his father and we know you hear us because it is your will for children to obey and honor parents according to the commandment. Help ### in Jesus Name that he may be described honorably in Proverbs 23:24 WEB: "The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice. He who fathers a wise child will have joy." , we ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we ask these things, amen in Jesus Name.
We encourage ### to be patient, pray, believe and share the Word of God with ### so he can be edified and encouraged to grow and be worthy to our Lord Jesus.
Rebuking anyone feels harsh, I so hope not to discourage, but we are going to heaven or hell, worshiping at the feet of Jesus, or damned with satan. We are saying you deserve a real honest answer and we are not going to compromise on God's Word. That said, it is not just about saying amen. It is not just about fixing a bed. It is about eternity. What is the plan for ### to obey the Lord?
It is important that we all obey the first commandment with a promise, for honoring and remembering to obey our parents is one way God is developing us to honor Him. When you honor your parents, you are honoring God and it is pleasing to God. We also need to actively exhort and teach ### with our words and if necessary ask what we can do to help. If there is sin and rebellion in ###, it needs to be addressed and rebuked. If ### isn't showing responsibility or respect for his father, then the problem may be more than just being ethical in fixing a bed. ### needs to be prepared to hear God's will and obey it.
In addition, we see that ###'s request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God and is only the name through which we can be saved. ### should specifically pray in Jesus Name and make sure ### understands he is to be a Christian and not just ethical.
Lastly, a Christian only acts from faith. For example, if your pastor tells you to do something, you need to have faith in pastor. Any action you do needs to be from faith in Christ, so you need to have faith in Him to do the right things in life.
