We are with you in spirit, CJL80, lifting your request before the throne of God. We appreciate that you acknowledge the power in the name of Jesus as you've ended your request with IJN (In Jesus Name). This is important as Jesus himself said, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
If you will bear with us, we feel it necessary to further emphasize this vital aspect of prayer.
Many people pray, but unfortunately some do not know or realize the importance of the name of Jesus for their prayer request to align with God's will so that they can be confident that God hears them. Since God is holy, we cannot approach Him any way we want to. God had to make a way for us to approach Him with sin left behind, as He cannot be in the presence of sin. The way God provided to deal with our sin is the punishment and death of Jesus on a cross. One of the meanings for Jesus is YHWH or God saves. Jesus translated is God saves. Basically, Jesus is God and savior and came to Earth from Heaven where he had always existed, born of a virgin just as the Old Testament prophesied. He also remained God while on Earth. Being sinless in his God state, he was able to take our sin punishment of death for us since he was not a sinner and did not deserve to die. If he did deserve to die, then his death would be pointless as he would be dying for his sin.
We can now come to God in Jesus Name since believing in Jesus allows us to be sinless, that is, have our sin forgiven forever. This places us in a state of grace or a sinless state with God and we can now call on him as long as we remember to use Jesus' name and make our request according to His will. Using His will and/or the term according to Your will is also important as we really do not know what to pray for and do not know what we should get in this life. That is a simple explanation of the work and importance of Jesus. Being saved is to recognize our sin, and realize Jesus died on a cross to take our punishment for sin so we do not have to go to hell and to permanently separate us from God's wrath and permanent punishment that would result from being a sinner in God's presence. Jesus was buried but rose from the grave, but also has now made it possible for believers who die not to be resurrected by God to an eternal torment and permanent separation from God. If you want to know more, try to study the book The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. It is study of the Gospel and has pertinent non-church history. Also, you can always look for a conservative Bible believing church. Use these tools to really get God's word in the Bible sown into your spirit. With Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can be sure you will have eternal life and are saved from an eternity in hell.
Now let us join together in prayer for your request:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up CJL80 and their loved ones. We pray that You will pour out Your blessings, guidance, and protection upon them. We ask that Your will be done in their lives, and that they would grow in the knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lord we pray that you would allow CJL80 to be steadfastly assured of their salvation in Christ and that their calling and election is sure as outlined in II Peter 1: 3-11 and especially verses 10 and 11. I Peter 1:13 tells us to be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your ignorance
Father, we also pray for their health, finances, and relationships. Guide them and keep them from falling for any temptation to sin.
Oh how you love your children. In the closing for this prayer, it is necessary to use the commonly known quote by the Apostle Paul that there is no other name under Heaven by which we can be saved, and the less known fact from I John 5:13 which tells us that we can know that we have eternal life: These things have I written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." I JN (In Jesus Name), Amen.
