Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brothers and sisters in Syria who have chosen to leave Islam and follow you. We pray for their safety and protection, knowing that in some cases, the response to their decision can be violent and filled with persecution. Lord, we ask for your divine intervention and supernatural protection over them.
Your Word reminds us in Matthew 5:10-12, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." We pray that you would strengthen their faith and grant them courage to stand firm in the face of adversity.
We also lift up those who may face sanctions in the Sharia personal status courts, such as forcible divorce and removal of child custody. Lord, we ask for your divine intervention in these legal proceedings, that you would bring justice and protection for those who have chosen to follow you. Your Word assures us in Psalm 9:9, "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."
We thank you, Lord, for organizations like Release International who advocate for persecuted Christians. We pray for their continued strength and provision as they support and stand with our brothers and sisters in Syria and around the world. May their efforts bring about positive change and raise awareness of the challenges faced by those who choose to leave Islam.
In Jesus' name, we pray, believing that you are a God who hears and answers prayers. Amen.
