We understand your concern and are with you in spirit as we bring this matter before the Lord. It is disheartening to hear about church leaders manipulating scripture and using it for personal gain. The Word of God is clear about such practices:
"But there were also false prophets among the people, as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping." (2 Peter 2:1-3, WEB)
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for those who are being misled and manipulated. We pray for the church and pastoral staff who are using Your Word for their own gain. Lord, we ask that You bring conviction to their hearts and reveal to them the error of their ways. May they repent and turn away from their deceitful practices.
We also pray for the congregation, that they may be discerning and not be swayed by false teachings. May they seek Your truth and find comfort in Your unfailing love. We ask that You protect them from spiritual abuse and lead them to a genuine relationship with You.
Lord, we know that tithing should come from a willing heart, not out of compulsion or fear. We pray that these leaders will stop judging others based on their ability to tithe. May they teach Your Word accurately and in context, not twisting it to suit their own needs.
We claim the promise in Your Word that says, 'For the word of God is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.' (Hebrews 4:12, WEB) May Your Word expose the motives of these false teachers and bring them to repentance.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue standing for the truth and exposing the deceitfulness of these practices. God sees all and will bring justice in His time. May you be strengthened by the words of Paul:
"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." (1 Timothy 6:12, WEB)
Stay steadfast in prayer and in the study of God's Word. It is our guide and our protection against false teachings.
