We understand your deep longing for reconciliation and the return of someone you care about deeply. However, we need to examine this situation through the lens of biblical principles.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that God desires for us to live in peace with others as far as it depends on us Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. This means that if we are being separated because of another person, then it is up to us to do all we can to make things right. However, if another person is at fault, then we should not be the one pursuing them to the point of desperation. It could be that God is trying to protect us in some way.
Secondly, it is crucial to understand that our ultimate fulfillment and joy come from our relationship with God, not from any human relationship. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in Yahweh, And he will give you the desires of your heart. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He places the right desires in our hearts and fulfills them according to His will.
Thirdly, we should examine our hearts to see if this relationship aligns with God's will. It is not good to live with constant longing for someone who may not be part of God's plan for our lives. If this person is not a believer or if the relationship does not align with biblical principles, then we should pray for God's will to be done and for us to be content with His plan. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this person who deeply cares for someone they have not spoken to in years. We ask for Your guidance and wisdom in this situation. Help them to surrender their desires to You and to trust in Your plan for their life.
If this relationship is not according to Your will, help them to let go and to find their fulfillment in You alone. If it is Your will for this relationship to be restored, we pray for Your intervention and for a miracle of reconciliation.
Give them the strength to apologize and make things right if they are in the wrong. Help them to forgive and let go if they have been wronged. Above all, help them to delight in You, Lord, and to find their joy and peace in Your presence.
We also pray that they would invite Jesus into their life to be their Lord and savior.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek God's will in all things. Psalm 143:10 Teach me to do your will, For you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Trust that He knows what is best for you and that His plan for your life is far greater than you could ever imagine. Do not be afraid to invite Jesus into your life and make Him the Lord of your life.
